Spring Irrigation Start-Ups
Kick off the season right. Professional system activation, testing, and optimization to ensure your irrigation is ready for summer.
Get Your System Ready for the Season
After months of sitting idle through Vancouver Island's wet, cool winter, your irrigation system needs a professional hand before it's ready to perform. A spring start-up isn't just about turning the water back on — it's a comprehensive system check that catches problems before they become expensive repairs.
Our technicians have been doing this for over 35 years. We know what to look for — from frost-damaged valve diaphragms to controllers that lost their programming over winter. We test every zone, every head, and every connection so you can trust your system is ready to keep your lawn healthy all season.
What's Included
Valve Testing
Every zone valve is tested for proper operation, leaks, and diaphragm condition.
Controller Calibration
Your timer is reprogrammed for spring watering schedules, adjusted for your property's needs.
Pressure Checks
Water pressure is checked to ensure even coverage and prevent head damage from excess pressure.
Zone Optimization
Run times and head patterns are adjusted for efficient watering and full coverage.
Head Inspection
Every sprinkler head is visually inspected and tested. Damaged or misaligned heads are flagged.
System Report
You'll receive a summary of findings, any recommended repairs, and your system's overall condition.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my spring start-up?
We recommend booking in March or early April. Starting early ensures your system is tested and ready before the growing season. Booking early also guarantees your spot — spring is our busiest season.
What does a spring start-up include?
A full system check: we test every valve, calibrate your controller, check water pressure, optimize zone timing, inspect all heads for damage from winter, and make sure everything runs cleanly before we leave.
How long does a spring start-up take?
Most residential start-ups take 30–60 minutes depending on the size and complexity of your system. Larger commercial or strata systems may take longer.
Do I need to be home for the start-up?
Not necessarily. As long as we can access the system and controller, we can perform the start-up. We'll leave a detailed report of what we found and any repairs needed.
